Coffee/Scantron Giveaway
Directly support student success every Finals Week! The Coffee/Scantron Giveaway is a tabling event where students can grab free coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate, snacks, scantrons, and sharpened #2 pencils! The table is run by volunteers from across constituencies and is highly regarded as one of the most rewarding events to participate in, as it's a unique opportunity to interact directly with students and directly support their efforts at Butte College.
Past events have also featured collaboration with other departments such as Student Success Services, Proud to be First Gen, and the Roadrunner Hub who have provided additional support to our students through the donation of breakfast sandwiches, snacks, prizes, and more!
If you want to participate in our next Coffee/Scantron Giveaway, contact your Area Senator or keep an eye on your inbox, as the call for volunteers goes out a few weeks prior to each Finals Week.

Butte Strong Remembrance
November 8th: A time to remember, reflect, and re-connect.The Butte Strong Remembrance was formed in the wake of the 2018 Camp Fire. The Butte College Classified Senate dedicated themselves to remembering and honoring the survivors and those lost in this tragic event.
To this end, they planted the Butte Strong Tree on the Main Campus lawn and hold an annual remembrance for the entire campus community to share in our collective loss and strength. As our area continues to weather further natural incidents, the Butte Strong Remembrance grows to include those impacted by these events.

Friendsgiving
Bringing our campus community together in friendship, comfort, & giving! In the Fall of 2019 Butte College was on lockdown due to COVID-19 and an in-person potluck was not feasible. So, instead of a potluck, the Classified Senate decided to gather recipes from students, staff, faculty, managers, and administration to compile into a cookbook!! The cookbook was made availalble digitally for free, or anyone could purchase a hard copy for a small fee. This was followed up with live online cooking demos, where senators or other contributors would cook up a dish from the cookbook!!
When Butte College returned to on-site work, the demand for the cookbook remained, so Friendsgiving has evolved into both an annual in-person potluck AND a campus community driven cookbook, which the Classified Senate uses as a small fundraiser.
Check out our past cookbooks here and start thinking of what recipe YOU can contriubte to the next cookbook & potluck!!
